Objective
In this project, I captured a self-portrait and subsequently applied editing techniques akin to those used for magazine models. I then integrated my before and after images into a magazine layout of my choice, tailoring it to highlight the awareness of unrealistic standards prevalent in social media.
Process
The most challenging aspect of this project involved obtaining a photo of myself without any filters or makeup. I used subtle makeup enhancements in Photoshop to highlight flawless skin, perfect lips, eyebrows, noses, and eyes. The final edited image underwent significant adjustments to create a comparison reminiscent of a professional model’s photoshoot. My primary focus was on showcasing my eyes as accurately as possible, as I am particularly confident about them. I aimed to explore how altering them would align with societal standards.
Medium/Tools Used
I utilized Photoshop to edit and enhance my appearance, applying makeup digitally. Subsequently, I employed InDesign to arrange the magazine layout before returning to Photoshop for the final mock-up.
